Our burl caps are made from the first cut we make when slabbing our burls. They will usually have burl on the face and the saw cut on the back; sometimes, the caps will also have chain saw cuts on one or two of the ends. You will notice that most of our burl caps are rather large. This is because we buy huge burls, sometimes weighing over 10,000 lbs each, from which we make large table-size burl slabs for tables, kitchen islands, desks, headboards, sculptures, and much more.
