Our Tasmanian Blue Gum Inventory

We have Tasmanian Blue Gum slabs in stock online in sizes that usually range:

  • Up to 32" wide
  • Up to 11' long
  • Up to 1.5" thick

Origin: Tasmanian Blue Gum is a fast growing tree found mainly in Tasmania and Southern Australia.

Color: The heartwood is a light golden brown with a narrow pale sapwood. It can be found with nice figure.

Janka Hardness: 2370 (hard)

Decay and Weather Resistance: Blue Gum is considered moderately durable and decay resistant.

Workability: Blue Gum is known to work well with both hand and machine tools. It glues and finishes well. You can see some tearout during planning when there is interlocked grain.

Uses: Because of the durability and decay resistance of Blue Gum, it is often used for fenceposts, flooring, pallet and framing lumber as well as woodworking, flooring, and veneer.

We are one of the biggest and oldest suppliers of large natural live edge wood slabs in the country.

We have over 10,000 kiln dried live edge slabs in stock with nearly 50 species to choose from. In our inventory we have slabs up to 75" wide, up to 20' long, and up to 8" thick.
