Inventory - Species:
anadenanthera collubrina var. cebil

DESCRIPTION – Cebil, also know as Patagonian Rosewood, is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Peru.  It is similar to cherry in color but once a clear finish is applied it has a much richer reddish color.  It has beautiful dark stripes or streaks throughout the wood and is often figured.

PROPERTIES – It is a very durable, hard and dense wood.  It dries slowly so care must be taken when drying the wood so it doesn't degrade.  Because it is so hard it can be difficult to work with, severely blunting cutting edges.  Therefore, carbide tools should be used.

USES – Because of its properties, Cebil is used for many outdoor applications including construction, railroad ties, marine applications and indoor applications such as flooring.
