Do I need to make an appointment before I come?
No appointment is necessary to visit during our hours of operation. However, we do require you to call ahead and make an appointment for any milling work.
Are you open to the public?
Yes, we would love to have you visit! In fact, we encourage you to come see our inventory and buildings in person. It’s an entire experience to see some of our larger slabs up close!
Inventory
Do you offer finished slabs?
We do not offer finished slabs, but we are always happy to give you names of woodworkers who may be able to assist you after your slab purchase.
If you visit, we have a gallery with some finished slabs to give you ideas. Also review the beautiful work in our customer gallery for inspiration.
Do you sell beams or plywood?
We do not sell beams, reclaimed barnwood, or plywood. However, we have the country’s largest selection of live edge slabs, a selection of dimensional lumber, epoxy, and a small selection of cast iron table legs.
How often do you get new arrivals?
We add to our new arrival list weekly! We also recommend signing up for our newsletter so you can be the first to know about things happening here.
Where does your wood come from?
Our slabs come from salvaged logs from around the country. Our inventory focuses mainly on domestic hardwoods, but we do offer some imported species. We have an especially large selection of claro walnut, English elm, maple and cherry.
What kind of wood do you sell?
We offer both domestic and exotic woods.
I’m having trouble finding something specific, what’s the best way to ask for help?
We are always eager to assist you in finding what you are looking for. You can ask for help via our website chat, email, phone, 413-229-7919, or come visit us and an associate can help you search in person!
Is all your inventory listed on your site?
We have a sizable selection of live edge slabs that are not listed on our website. We recommend visiting us to view those options. We also have a selection of lumber, epoxy, a clearance section, and more. These items are not available for shipment.
Finishing
Are the slabs sanded flat?
All our slabs are surfaced on both sides to ensure that they are flat prior to shipping.
Shipping
Will the driver assist me in removing the slab order off the truck?
No, the driver is not obligated to assist you.
How do I know if my order shipped?
We will send you an email with your tracking information.
How much does shipping cost?
We offer FREE shipping for orders over $2,000.00.
How do you ship your slabs?
Normally we custom crate our slabs to ensure that they arrive to you safely. The crates are built with screws for easy disassembly. Smaller items are boxed or wrapped in cardboard.
Where will you ship to?
We can ship to anywhere within the lower 48 states. International customers must make their own shipping arrangements. Please note that we do not ship our lumber, only our web listed slabs.

I saw some beautiful furniture on your website, do you sell it there?
We do not offer any finished products. What you see on our website are the finished products of our very talented woodworking customers.
I’m looking at a slab online and I see in the comments section that it says, “On hold”, what does this mean?
We can hold something for someone for up to two weeks with half of a down payment or four weeks with a full payment. Please contact us if you see this on something you are interested in – our staff would be more than happy to assist you in finding something similar or adding you to a waiting list if the hold falls through.
Miscellaneous
I had a tree taken down; will you purchase the log from me?
This all depends on species, size, health, and delivery of the log. If you have something you think we might be interested in, please email information and pictures to Matt@berkshireproducts.com. More information on this subject can be found in the “Logs Wanted” section of our website.
I have a large tree that I need taken down, will you remove it for me?
We do not offer any type of tree removal.
What is your returns policy?
We accept all returns with 100% money back as long as the slab is returned in the same condition it was sold in.
How do I remove the label that is on my slab?
Our labels are glued on with Elmers glue and should easily be removed with a sander.
