Tasmanian Blue Gum Origin:
Tasmanian Blue Gum is a fast growing tree found mainly in Tasmania and Southern Australia.
Tasmanian Blue Gum Workability:
Blue Gum is known to work well with both hand and machine tools. It glues and finishes well. You can see some tearout during planning when there is interlocked grain.
Uses:Because of the durability and decay resistance of Blue Gum, it is often used for fenceposts, flooring, pallet and framing lumber as well as woodworking, flooring, and veneer.
Color:The heartwood is a light golden brown with a narrow pale sapwood. It can be found with nice figure.
Janka Hardness:2370 (hard)
Decay and Weather Resistance:Blue Gum is considered moderately durable and decay resistant.
