Color: The heartwood tends to be a medium to reddish brown

Decay and Weather Resistance: California Cottonwood is rated as being non-durable and susceptible to insect attack.
Workability: Easy to work with hand tools because of its softness. Glues well and accepts stains and finishes easily.
Uses: Veneer, furniture, plywood, boxes/crates, and various utility applications.
